"It's all right," she tells them, eyes closing again because it takes too much energy to keep them open. "It really is. I had a good life; I have no regrets."

"You deserved a good life," Elena whispers into her ear. "Deserved it more than any of us."

"Fought for it harder, too," Caroline adds.

Bonnie nods and turns her face up to the sun. It feels so good on her skin; feels every bit as good as it used to. "I will miss this," she concedes after a lengthy silence.

The other girls shift closer, tears more apparent than before.

"We'll miss you," Elena's voice hitches and a sob escapes her before she can catch it ( ... )

This was so lovely. Lots of little things I loved: Elena and Stefan having their billionth honeymoon \o/, Caroline refusing to change her name, and even Bonnie, refusing to give up her humanity even at the very end.

I'm glad you liked it! Stefan and Elena deserve one billion honeymoons and Bonnie really deserves her humanity. I'm a little annoyed at how little screen time Kat Graham gets this season, because with all the growing and development going on, you'd think the girls could go through some of it together.

I love this! Great details...all the little things feel very true for them.

And I agree with you, the three of them definitely need more screen time together. I really liked their friendships in season 1.

Oh god that is beautiful. I just, I love this so much, it literally made my heart ache. I kinda hope this is their future, because I can really see this happening, with Elena and Caroline going off with the Salvatores and Bonnie staying human. And I love how strong their friendship still is <3__<3
