Stuart Townsend was odd enough--though he took it in a completely different direction, and considering the script, did a righteous job hacking through a FanFict wank affair.
Tom Cruise I would have NEVER EVER pegged to do as well as he did...but the man knows how to Grandstand. And if there is anything that the Brat Prince can do, it's grandstand.
But Downey? No fucking way. I love him dearly--he'd make a great Body Thief/David Talbot...but Not LESTAT!!! *cringe* You might as well just ass rape the series from then on out.

Someone suggested Johnathon Rhys-Meyers...getting warmer with that choice, methinks. But this is a dead franchise, people. Unless there's a remake of Iw/aV in the works, there will really not be another film any time soon.
