CONTROL, a film by Anton Corbijn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrFKu3xwTlQ "One Week Only!
Starts Friday, October 26 at the Lumiere Theatre
Late-1970s British post-punk band Joy Division was one of the most influential groups of their time, inspiring U2, Kurt Cobain, The Cure, Interpol and countless "goth rock" bands. Sam Riley gives an unforgettable performance as the troubled, enigmatic leader of the Manchester band, Ian Curtis, whose talent for singing intense, darkly infectious pop songs (such as "Love Will Tear Us Apart") was subverted by mood swings, bouts of epilepsy and a crumbling marriage. Samantha Morton (In America, Minority Report) plays his wife, upon whose memoir the film is based. Feature debut of acclaimed photographer and music video director Anton Corbijn."
I really can't wait to see that. I've only heard great things. We are organizing a troupe to go up, next week. Be there or Be Square. I had heard that he was schitzophrenic, not epileptic, but either or...it's an interesting and very sad story.
Going out to Death Guild tonight, aussi...and perhaps The Box, next monday. Mondays are great days for dancing. :D
Can't wait til this weekend, for it is my sister's birthday and we are going to be running around doing family things.
I'm still supposed to be going to see the Boys in L.A., but with money being the way it is, I may need to skip it.
Which would suck.
Daniel and I had dinner last night; I could go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving, if I wanted to.
I may just...i just don't know my scheduale, as of yet. *shrugs* we shall see.
If you haven't seen "the wind that shakes the barley", and you like dramatic films, Do It. It's a hard watch, at points, but an excellent film. Definitely well executed.
*sighs* off to get ready for work.
