planting and making plans
Last weekend J and I planted some new flowers around the mailbox and in a pot in the front yard. They are bright yellow and make me smile whenever I look out the window or drive to/from the house. It is crazy how happy such small things make me sometimes.
Lois and Lou and I have been talking about next summer and although Lois wanted us to go to this place in Colorado, Jayce can not get past how much fun she had in AZ this summer. I agree. Best ever. We were there for 5 or so nights and loved every minute--hours and hours spent by the pool (with poolside service, of course), horseback trails, desert car ride, jeep desert tour, and the best restaurants...plus a gorgeous gorgeous suite. When we checked in, the hostess person had printed out 4 pages (!!) of local things we could do. We didn't get to even 10% of them! So, we're going back! 8 days in June this time! Yay!!! We spent yesterday afternoon listing all of the things we want to do again as well as new things we want to do. It'll be a great reward for finishing the school year- and a celebration for J of the end of elementary school. :)
Jayce and I are in real danger every time we go to Petsmart or the pet store and they have those doggy adoption days. It is torturous. I have to just remind myself that dogs cost SO much money and do I really want another one to take care of? Plus, my babies love each other so much and are so comfortable in their life here. I don't want to do anything to wreck that. Also, I can take them everywhere I want- 2 are a lot easier to handle than 3...or 5...or 8. Ack! I secretly (well, a secret from Jayce) also want a pug puppy. So badly! Maybe next summer? I have a long time to think about it. But my girls will be young enough that I think it would fit right in...but I hesistate for the reasons mentioned above. No. We're fine with 2. No.
Trying to get things done around the house today so that later I can do some shopping. Back to work tomorrow.
