So I got another 4.0 GPA in my Czech language class.... geek, geek, geekI'm sooooo relieved I don't have to take the Graduate Record Exam, in order to attend graduate studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am bummed that going there will mean spending two years in San Francisco. :-( My apologies to Bay Area residents :-) my

cool that it's convenient to all public transit! But I still want to live close-in, mainly because I DO NOT want a car. Exactly as you describe, live having this big, old albatross around your neck! (It's funny that you use an analogy of a huge handbag; I hate purses and the like, for just this feeling THEY give ;-) heheh

I'm glad they have car share stuff! Groceries ARE a pain in the ass! Or any other large purchases. (When I first moved to Seattle, I bought a mini-stereo, and had to haul it around on two bus lines, to get it home. hehe) Plus, I HAVE to get out of the city, because the city drives me NUTS....I have to get into nature. Maybe Amtrak plus a bike could take care of that?? :-) I also love to bike, and even the hills are fine (I'll need to buy a different bike, though). SF has a large, friendly (so I hear) biking community, so I'm sure I can figure that all out....

I just realized that I currently have three different acquaintances in the Bay Area, so my attempting to land there might not be as rough as I imagine

From my initial research, I figured the Mission District is where I'd end up :-) assuming nothing changes in the time intervening.
