Saturday night in Indy

Dec 06, 2004 02:57

On Saturday I picked up some people and we went to Indy for a purdueonline.com get-together. We all met at Alcatraz downtown for dinner around 5:30, which was good, except our server had a lot of problems keeping everything together. The place was packed, though. Afterwards we got some taxis and went to the zoo for a Christmas thing. It was pretty nice, there were lots of light sculptures and of course animals. Unfortunately we only had an hour or so to spend at the zoo because dinner took so long.

You can view pictures from the dinner in this thread on POL, but not unless you are logged in. Well you can at least read the descriptions on that thread and then look here on my website where I have hosted a copy of the pics.

The post-zoo plans were complicated by the fact that a couple of us were not 21, but we managed to find a cool place which is set up like a movie theater, except you sit at tables and you can order food and drinks during the movie. We saw Ladder 49, which was an okay movie, and about halfway through the movie, Becky got a phone call and mysteriously disappeared. She had to drive back to Muncie that night, so I assume she went home (it was almost midnight).

Afterwards we ended up at Brent's house, which is really awesome. He's not that much older than I am, but he has a lot of cool toys. I guess that's what having a real job will get you. We played a board game ("Battle of the Sexes") and overall had a good time. Corey was going to get to use a condo, but her friend didn't answer the phone (not surprising at 2AM) so we all crashed at Brent's. This is the second time I've hung out with her and we really "click" - like we were really good friends after one conversation. It's just disappointing that she lives so far away (Muncie), because whenever we are together I feel like we are starting something that we won't be able to finish. Anyway, we'll see how it goes...
