Working at The Last Dot-Com (TM), Part VI

Sep 12, 2002 16:58

My current assignment is to document a process for diagnosing connectivity.

You know, "O NO ONO TEH INTERNET R BROKEN CALL THE SYSOP".

Stuff like, check your ipconfig, ping this router, pimg that router, ping TEH INTERNET, etc.

I have accomplished surprisingly little of this little task, too. I say surprisingly because no one is here to play foosball, and I haven't been working on anything else. Just doing nothing. For five hours.

I don't feel like too bad of a slacker, though, or at least I am not alone. Last week, I prepared a fax for Network Solutions (a customer forgot the password AND the challenge question / answer) so we could fix a typo in the admin contact email address, and the person who was supposed to get it signed and faxed (yes, five minutes max) still hasn't done it.
