Time to change the litter

Last time I got Tidy Cats Small Spaces cat litter because it was cheap with a coupon at Kroger. Apparently they have some kind of perfume in there and it smells awful. It's like a mix between cat poop and rotting fruit.

Anyway, I have a big box of Fresh Step and I'm going to replace the litter this morning. THE END

I fell for that, too. We had a coupon for the "new" Tidy Cats, and since the litter boxes are in "small spaces", I thought what the hell. Yeah, you were spot on with your scent description. I actually think it ENHANCES the urine odor. Plus, there's some sort of underlying cheap-car-freshener scent that makes my stomach lurch. We've since switched back to the Tidy Cats Multiple Cats. The girls didn't seem to notice the difference, but hey, they lick their own asses, so what do they know?

but anyway... i have a tiny 1 bedroom apt and a cat. and use small spaces. and it does stink after like a day. what works the best? haha sorry for being weird!

So far I gotta go with Fresh Step scoopable with... you know, flavor crystals or whatever.

Tidy Cats multiple cats works great for me. I tend to scoop every day or other day or so, and replace the entire litter box with fresh litter every 10-15 days.
