Hump day review

Sep 21, 2005 18:02

So far, so good. Since I woke up around 3:30 or something like that, I was pretty exhausted by the early afternoon, and I could barely stay awake in topology. Otherwise, the day went smoothly. I have almost completed my graph theory homework assignment (due Friday) and I hope to finish grading and get some topology homework done (due Friday). I don't think there is a specific time table for turning in our algebraic number theory homework, but I hope to get started on it soon. (So far I have done a little bit of it, but I haven't made much progress... That class makes my head swim and I don't think I will end up learning hardly anything from it. I just hope I can get a passing grade, or another semester to take more courses.)

The job fair was okay, although I think it was pretty much a waste of time. The NSA recruiters had some generic things to say and gave me some pamphlets and such. Although I submitted a resume, they said I would need to apply online (again, since internet gremlins seem to have eaten my last application). He did offer some helpful advice, that I should expand my resume to multiple pages, and go into detail about some of the related coursework. I will most likely need to find a job in the meantime, since security clearance takes so long to process, but we got a letter about teaching test prep courses for Kaplan which looks like a good opportunity, and I could conceivably start this semester teaching evening courses for as few as 3 hours weekly -- ideal for my schedule. There are auditions for this next Tuesday and also in mid-October. Speaking of tutoring, I made some money today and I have another appointment tomorrow.

Oh yeah, since I mentioned getting a tie yesterday, you wouldn't believe what the NSA recruiter was wearing today. Yep, a freaking Spongebob Squarepants tie.

future plans, tutoring, money, school
