Regarding
my recent exchange with the secretary to the director of multicultural programs in the pre-pharmacy department, the conversation has continued.
My last response:
I am not interested in tutoring again for the program. If Ms. X
would like to set up a meeting to discuss something else, I will try to
meet with her, but otherwise I do not want to waste her time.
was met with:
Hi Chris,
This is not about tutoring again. She just wants to meet with you. Would
you be available tomorrow morning? Let me know and I'll schedule you in.
My reply What is the meeting regarding? has not as of yet been answered. This was my question at the beginning -- she wants to meet with me, why? It's not September so I doubt there is a surprise birthday party waiting for me. Do I not deserve the courtesy of a good reason before taking the time and effort to go to her office and have a meeting? I have no business with her, and I'm not particularly interested in working there again. Maybe I am being oversensitive here but I am frankly offended by these requests. If she wants to meet with me so badly, how about coming over to MY office on HER time? I refuse to be treated like a subordinate, disrespectfully, or as if my time is not valuable when in fact we have no such relationship.
