Tutoring didn't go so well this past week. My Monday guy rescheduled to Wednesday, and then cancelled on Wednesday. My Wednesday first-timer couldn't find my office, and then cancelled her Friday appointment on Friday due to illness. I have two or three appointments for next week, so hopefully I can get some extra cash before Spring Break, which is the following week. I haven't really thought much about Spring Break because I have had so many things going on with school lately.
I got my midterm grade for crypto, and I scored right about average for the class, although the standard deviation was pretty big. I did really well on the exam, but I simply ran out of time. That happens to me a lot... I always take my time and try to do things correctly, and so usually I lose very few points to penalties and mostly to no-attempt. I suspect the situation will be similar for my discrete math exam, which I had yesterday. I feel really good about being able to answer all of the questions, except I didn't have enough time to finish three of the problems (out of around 15). It's the kind of thing where there is a trick, and if you remember the trick then it is just a matter of writing down the solution, but if you can't remember the trick exactly then it is a very time-consuming process of playing around until you figure it out again. So anyway, two down, one to go -- I have a complex analysis exam next Thursday.
I think my legs are a little sore from DDR last night. I'm still pretty bad at it, especially if someone is watching me, but I can tell that I am improving every time I play it. I can't wait to get good at it!
