A busy, fun filled weekend...

Being the gaming nut that I am...

This weekend, Shandra, Falcon & me sat down and finally played our newly purchased nuke war expansion, Weapons of Mass Destruction. I lost quickly in the first game because I stupidly drew the supervirus on my very first turn. Falcon won because he had a cool country ability and kept adding population everytime he shot at Shandra.

Later Falcon & I decided to try out some other games. We were sorely disappointed to find out that Medal of Honor:frontline's Multiplayer mode on the Xbox was Deathmatch only. I guess that means I'm going to have to break down and buy Brute Force, since that at least claims it's Co-op multiplayer.

On the other hand, our next try out was a smash success - Tribes 2. This is the old $9 version we picked up at Best Buy which can run on 300 Mhz pc's, (mainly because Falcon doesn't have enough money to upgrade his pc yet.), so we weren't expecting much out of it. (We had thought we were going to wind up playing Airfix dogfighter, if this c*****d out.)

But we were pleasantly surprised! This game plays a lot like a sci fi suped up version of Quake 3 arena. And the Multiplayer game options were pretty decently fun. We played a games called Flag Hunters (this one I liked the best!), Rabbit, Siege, and our old standby CTF. The jump jets were definitely fun once you got the hang of them. Though IMHO the vehicle piloting sucks just as much as it does in Battle field 1942.

And it sounds like we're going to have to start loading up on usual custom maps, skins, and all the trimmings before our next run at the game. Plus I might have to start locating some more copies of the game in case other friends want to join in on the mayham.

Shandra wants more yet costumes...
And as usual, Shandra went all Holloween costume making bonkers this weekend. First the Puppies, then herself. Apparently last weeks puppy costumes didn't do them justice, so she's re-doing them.

I tried out yet another calculator at work
It's seems my eternal search to find a decent replacement for my old Computer Science calculator seems to be turning into a quest of sorts. There doesn't seem to be a lot of calculators out there that make it simple to do Binary, Hex, and Octal conversions.

In fact this new Casio Fx-115MS, practically makes it downright painful, Say that you want to convert the Decimal number 10 into Binary - you have to press "mode", "mode", "mode", "3", "Bin", "logic", "logic", "logic", "1", "10" and "=" to get the answer of "1010". Ick! Where's my TI-60?

Good gaming!
