It pleases me to get the feedback that the details of the world worked well enough in the storyline as they really were a requirement to understanding the general situation of the characters.

Unethical hmmm. To our way of thinking perhaps because it is like being born with a mortgage payment we are responsible for from the cradle. But in their society it is common place enough that most of the time no one thinks twice about it. And when they due think about it is is usually political because contracted mechs aren't cheap. Contracted mechs may complain about their contract but it is more in the sense of how college students complain about term papers. It's something to complain about because it comes with the territory. For contracted mechs they can do everything the rest of the working class bots can do. They get wages from their job, most of which goes towards the contract yes - but they still have personal spending money. Housing and all their living needs are covered for them - even if it gets added to the contract and ultimately does need to be paid off. But that is no different that us having to pay for our utilities along with the mortgage along with insurance along with food along with... These bots can long weekends to visit friends, they can take vacations. The only difference is they can't change job professions - which most don't want to anyway. When your specialty is part of who you are your likely to be happy with what you do. (so that could be considered the unethical part). At the same time Cities and the Military are not ordering pre-programmed mechs to be street sweepers, janitors or cannon fodder so to speak. Pre-programmed bots are highly skilled in the task or tasks they were ordered for with high quality frames - (though perhaps not as high quality as nobles or royalty)- so these things already class them as luckier than the average cybertronian. For all that Smokey talks about getting off of contract it's not something that overly worries him. He was made as a tactician for the Praxus SWAT. He's definitely smart. He knows what is needed for pay-off and he really doesn't care. Even if the SWAT is broken up - as a contracted bot it's not like he's gonna get dumped out on the streets on his aft. A. Praxus has a lot invested in him and B. There's laws against that.

I'm glad the spark sync explanation worked. I was worried about that.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I very much appreciate it.
