Brief thoughts about G1 continuity and a question

In brief:

It was mentioned to me that my referencing Perceptor as part of the Ark's crew in my Holding Out For a Hero storyline, Bonus Scene 7 is a G1 continuity error. To some extent yes this is correct since he is one of the many bots who “mysteriously” appear as part of the expanded crew. Sorta like all the generic Decepticon seekers who all of a ( Read more... )

Just clicking around today, reading different posts in different journals, this one caught my interest.
I like to think that they were on board the Ark, in a different area of the ship, and that when the first "wave" woke up, they didn't have the supplies/resources to revive them. They were put into "storage" in stasis until supplies were plentiful enough to revive them.
My only problems with the "second wave arriving from Cybertron" theory is that, although the situation on Cybertron isn't hugely elaborated on, it's quite possible that the crew up there can't spare any more mechs. As far as I know, Cybertron was largely under Decepticon control when the Ark and the Nemesis were launched, so the 'bots on Cybertron are probably a little short handed, and may not be able to spare a ship.
Speaking of ships, I don't recall any kind of second ship that could have possible brought down the other mechs being mentioned. My knowledge of the cartoon is a little gap-filled because it was long before my time, and I can't manage to find all the epis on youtube, but, from those that I've seen, most of the spacebridges seem to be Decepticon controlled, and I can't imagine a large crew of mechs hijacking a 'con spacebridge unnoticed.

The second group being somewhere on board seems to be the easier explanation to deal with.

Each response helps to flesh out the support for the possibility of the second wave of bots being included in the original crew at launch.

Thank you for responding.
