Danger--what does it mean to you, right now, in this moment?
Danger frequently comes from areas where you least expect it. I was recently in a coma due to a mind rape from a visiting Ullian, a strongly telepathic species. Although the three Ullians were reportedly working on building an archive of memories, Jev - the son of one of the other visiting Ullians - apparently had plans of his own. Before long, not only was I in a coma due to Jev's telepathic memory invasion, but so were Cmdr. Riker and Dr. Crusher.
The memory invasion involves a telepath (in this case, Jev) intruding into his victim's memories - either good or bad ones - and usurping them, so that the victim is confronted with the telepath occurring in an always-repeated memory. Afterwards, the victim falls into a coma.
While it is unfortunate that the Federation has no laws against this mental invasion, the Ullians do - and their penalty for it is quite severe.
Needless to say, I don't like not being in control of my own mind.
I can't help but feel sorry for Jev, but I am glad that he is finally being brought to justice for his crimes.
