A phonecall

Nick (a friend of mine that I used to go to uni with who now lives in Japan) and Adam rang me last night at about 1:30am. Our house phone is in my parents room so it woke them up hehe. But yeah, 'twas a nice surprise to hear from them.

Adam told me about the stuff that he's done, the things he's seen, and bits and pieces about Japan's way of life and how damned cool it all is. Talked to him for about an hour and a half or so, and I updated him with everything that's going on around here too.

He hated flying, which made him sick (coz he's a flying n00b), and he didn't even have music because the airline headphones wouldn't work with his discman. He said that while walking around the streets in Japan everyone's so hot, which I would thoroughly believe... schoolgirls everywhere! The two of them are going on a trip to Tokyo next week some time (it's about 2-3 hours away by Bullet Train) and Nick's never been there before so it's new for him too.

He hasn't bought anything yet except for a pair of headphones, and hearing about the long process of buying them was quite entertaining.

Bottom line is, he sounded happy, the happiest I've heard him in years. I told him how insanely jealous we all are. The latest thing is that he's now trying to pluck up the courage to have a public hot spring bath (naked in front of strangers). I reckon I could do it, I'd feel a bit weird though. Overall, I'm glad he's ok and enjoying himself, not that there was any real chance of that NOT happening.

ZOMG FOO FIGHTERS TONIGHT!!! *bounces everywhere*
