Your home is what you make of it.

I just want to remind people particularly Sir Geddoe that if you are unhappy with living at Budehuc, no one is forcing you to live here.  That being said, please try not to speak out disrespectfully about the home Master Thomas and so many others worked so hard to protect.  Many of you were not here during the second war, so you would not know, but I was, and myself and a few others were here before that as well.  We remember what it was like to sell off furniture and books from the library to pay for food to eat.  We do not have to do that anymore, but it's difficult to forget being hungry like that.  Just try to remember that before you speak out, because those words can hurt.

If you are unhappy with how things are here, put forth your energy towards assisting with patrolling the castle or preparing for the spring festival.  I will have no pity for someone who complains and does nothing to improve things.  If course, not everyone deserves that scolding, so if what I've said does not apply to you, please do not be offended.

Yesterday I spoke with Sir Mathiu, and he talked with me about the character of other types of people.  I feel like I should be a bit more on-guard, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.  He also gave me some suggestions about my patrol schedule, but I do not want to change anything until I speak with Sir Hugo and Luca has had some time to think things over.  In the meantime, I will be looking for Shiro in between shifts if anyone would like to speak with me.

And happy birthday, Sir Fred.  I made you something, so come see me some time.
