Juan once told me that surprise birthdays were the best kinds of birthdays, so I thought I'd surprise everyone! Tomorrow is my birthday and I will be fifteen! That's really really really old! Or at least, older than I was last year! I accidentally told Master Thomas before I left for Vinay del Zexay, so I'm afraid I can't surprise him though. But now I'm closer to being an adult and then I can be an official registered member of the guard, even though I'm somewhat official already. I really didn't understand when the technicalities were explained. ._.
Speaking of Juan, I have to ask him about my status report!! I hate being away for so long; I miss so much and I get homesick. >//> Lady Sierra promised me he'd stay awake to help everyone guard the castle while I was away, and I am very anxious to find out how things went. Plus, I am very concerned about Master Thomas' safety, since Luca was threatening him before I left. However, I brought back gifts, so if he behaved I shall let him have his gift. :D
Master Thomas: The man in the marketplace told me that biscuits are better to bring back than cookies, and I know Master Thomas prefers sweet food, so I brought a few glazed biscuits back and the salesman was right; they didn't even get flattened! :O
Juan: I found a new training dummy, since I know he had some problems concerning his old one and Muto >_>. Besides, I promised I'd bring him back a gift for his own birthday! I also got him some socks since it appears Koroku's lost interest in Sir Nash's socks you can never have too many! :D
Sir Hervey: A brand new bandanna! Because I got his bandanna all wet when I was sick. v_v;;
Luca: A cookbook, because he needs to vary his diet and he has been eating very unhealthy foods lately. If he cannot cook, then he can pick what foods he'd like to eat and we could cook them for him. :D
Miss Yun: A hand-carved bird; I thought it was very pretty but when I looked on the bottom it said it was made in Caleria. Ah well, I still think she'd like it.
Sir Riou: Strong fishing line, for when he decides to go fishing next time.
Rody: Some bells to tie around Renedio's collar. I don't know if he already owns some, but each one makes a different noise, and I thought they were very unique.
Sir Fred: A compass because he seems to be finding himself more lost than usual.
Sir Barts: The lady at the trading post gave me some seeds for a fruit called "cantaloupe", but I had never heard of it, so I thought Sir Barts may have, and if so he might like to grow some. :D
Lord Reinbach: Some of Vinay del Zexay's imported tea! And maybe I can pass it off as payment for drinking all that tea when I was sick. >_>
Sir Ted and Sir Kinnison: I bought them both a nice stone to sharpen their arrows on. I don't know much about archery, but I would think that it is important to have sharp arrows. :O
Sir Pahn: I was not sure what to get him, since I can't think of anything that will help him learn to swim, but I ended up buying him a new bandanna like I bought Sir Hervey.
Lord McDohl: A few nice books, since when he went to Gregminster last year he gave me some.
Lady Yuiri: I know she already found her hair clip, but there was a very pretty one which reminded me of leaves, and I thought it'd be nice for her to have a spare, should she lose hers again.
Sir Tai Ho: Some soothing medicinal herbs, because he has been very stressed lately.
Lady Elenor: I'm afraid she was very difficult to buy for, and I ended up purchasing some blank scrolls on which to write. v_v I hope she doesn't mind.
Sir Lo Hak: Actually, I had already set aside a map of Budehuc for him when I learned he arrived while I was away last time, but I hadn't the chance to give it to him.
I picked up several more items for a few other people as well, and I could have sworn I got some color-coded paper clips for Sir Jess but I can't find them x_x, but I brought some of the money I had been saving after my father died to spend, and things are surprisingly inexpensive in Vinay del Zexay.
The trip was actually very nice! Lord Salome brought along a horse, but we both decided neither of us like riding very much, so it carried our bags. But in Zexen Forest there was a dead body! I think I startled Lord Salome more than the body did. v_v;; I have seen dead bodies before, but I do not think I shall ever get used to them.
Last time I went to Vinay del Zexay it was with Sir Barts, Sir Fred, Sir Clive, and Rico. But this time it wasn't really for sight-seeing, although I did get a brief and somewhat boring history lesson from Lord Salome. I hope he didn't notice I wasn't really paying attention. Even still, Vinay del Zexay may be pretty, but I like Budehuc best.
Oh! But while Lord Salome was in his meeting I waited for him outside the Guild Hall, as that is what the BEST! a good escort should do. There were some mean infantry men who talked to me while I was waiting--they didn't think I was fit to be a knight, much less an escort, and they said...horribly indecent things about me and my skirt. >///< Had Lord Salome not come out to break things up I don't know what I would have done. It was scary and I didn't want to cause trouble I would have challenged them all, and won too!! >O
