A few people have asked about the dentist who is coping with my broken tooth (*shakes fist at burger place*). If you're not in or near Seattle it's probably not of interest.
The specific person I am seeing is Dr. Kwok-Hung (Albert) Chung. I can attest that he is not a lecturer (I really hate it when dentists tell me to drink less coffee), and is gentle and cheerful. He's part of the
UW dental faculty, and while I recommend him highly, I imagine most of the faculty are equally good. Contact info (for all of them) is 206-685-8258 or uwdentists@u.washington.edu.
Note also that UW has a
dental student clinic, which is cheaper but takes longer; an
emergency dental care clinic; and a
Dental Fear clinic for patients with anxiety/fear about seeing dentists. (huh!)
They'll file insurance claims for you if you have some kind of UW insurance, such as GAIP. I don't know about other insurance.
