I think the battery in my iPod is starting to lose capacity. It was fully charged a couple of evenings ago, and now it's looking close to empty, and when I think back to how much I've used it since then I can't account for more than about six or seven hours or so. I'll have to keep an eye on it, I guess... maybe one day I'll leave it running continuously and see how long it lasts. I know I use it pretty heavily, but I still would have thought it'd be a while longer before it started to show signs of wearing out. Eighty pounds, it costs, to get a new battery fitted (well, actually, they just send you a brand spanking new iPod, but still).

I'm off to see Gemma Hayes at the Zodiac tonight, which should be good. Tim and Katie are going too, which is a bit of a rarity - I mention gigs to them occasionally but they're usually pretty non-committal, however they've seen Gemma Hayes before so it was much easier to persuade them than when I try to get them to come to see a random band they've never heard of.

I've just had a new bookcase delivered to my parents' place that holds 1000 CDs. Soon, the days of having CDs stacked up in numerous piles on top of my existing pitifully-small bookcase will be numbered, and I'll actually be able to find things. I was randomly chatting to wetsleeve's offspring Jenny a bit yesterday, and she was most amused to learn that I have my CDs arranged alphabetically by artist name and then chronologically by year of release (well, I would do if it weren't for the fact that I was out of shelf space and resorting to stacking them in piles). The former is necessary for me to have any chance of remembering where a CD should be, but I admit that the latter is essentially just me being a bit anal.

I'm not going to go into why, but last night was somewhat... intense. It'll be good to get out tonight and relax a bit and drink cider until I'm comfortably merry.
