Okay, well, not so much. No snow on the ground, and mid-50's all Thanksgiving weekend long. Not typical end of November weather. However, one thing to put me into the holiday mood was that yesterday, per Molly's family tradition, the Christmas tree went up. And during the decorating, we popped in some classic Christmas movies. Ended up watching:
White ChristmasMiracle on 34th StreetGoing My Way Miracle on 34th Street was a new purchase this weekend (have it on VHS, but wanted it on DVD). I love these old Christmas movies...in my opinion, nothing new can compare to these (plus
Holiday Inn and
The Bells of St. Mary's). Of the "newer" Christmas movies, the only ones I've really enjoyed are
Scrooged,
The Santa Clause (I admit it),
Elf, and Patrick Stewart's
A Christmas Carol.
This, of course, don't include the animated and stop-motion animated classics (i.e. Charlie Brown and Bass Rankin).
For me to really get into the Christmas spirit, we need some significant snowfall, but I'm definitely headed in that direction. Heck, I've even got one present out of the way (and I don't even want to know how many left to go).
