Question for romance genre readers

What are the top romances you've read, ever, in all time, in the entire world? Historical, contemporary, paranormal etc. I'm talking romance genre specifically; not just books with romantic tones. The main conflict is the relationship between the hero & heroine and they have a happy ending.

What do you love and, hopefully, why do you love it?

By all time favorite romance author is Jude Deveraux and my favorite book of hers is Wishes, about an ordinary girl with a not so ordinary guardian angel who grants her three wishes. Things happen in unexpected ways, and the hero falls in love with her anyway. It's in the American West, but there's no cowboys involved except peripherally.

Many of her books follow the same family throughout several generations. The Montgomery and Taggart families to be specific. Her family tree notes must be extensive in the extreme. The very first book in that line is the Black Lyon, then the Velvet quartet.

For contemporary I love Nora Roberts. Her trilogies can blend a bit of magic into the story in believable ways. Recent trilogies include Key of Light, Key of Truth and Key of Valor; but my favorite is the Jewel of the Sun, Jewel of the Moon and Jewel of the Sea trilogy. It takes place in Ireland.

Catherine Coulter has some great ones too. Her FBI 'thriller' series started out strong with The Cove and the Maze, but after about the 5th one, it stops being about the new couple in the book and focuses mainly on the pair you meet in the Maze. But the first four are great.
