Today when I woke up I could not find my deodorant. I consider this an important possession and would have been fairly miserable living without one in Olden Days. I always place it in exactly the same place, so I knew it couldn't have been moved by anything I had done. But I have been in my apartment since I used it yesterday and no one else entered, so from this I was able to conclude that either the thief is very small or is invisible.
It is possible that it is a time traveler from the future, which makes the 'invisible' theory more explainable, as that would be how they became invisible as well (from the same highly advanced technology which allowed them to travel to the future). But why would they travel to the past just to take my deodorant? Is there something special about it? I did get it on sale at Kroger's, and perhaps there are no more left on sale, so he or she (the time traveler) thought to take mine instead. But it has been used, so he or she must be rather desperate. I wonder if he or she is traveling even further into the past, to a place where there is no deodorant, and they thought mine especially wonderful for the purpose. I cannot blame them for thinking this.
Under the 'very small person' theory I would think that it would be something or someone living within the walls, which would explain how he or she got into my room without my knowing (or perhaps just slipped under the door). The deodorant would have been incredibly heavy for them I would guess. This is probably the more likely theory, as opposed to the time travel theory, because I actually moved my bed and found it (the deodorant) in the space between the bed and the wall. It makes sense that the small person would have lugged it almost to their living space within the wall but gave up halfway because it was much too heavy for them. A time traveler could have just zapped it away, and as I found it still in my room, that just doesn't seem the likely story.
I feel sorry for this small person but it really is rude to take another's possessions. Just because he or she is small and probably cannot reach the cashier's counter at Kroger is no reason to take mine. I have no sympathy for someone who lowers themselves to stealing when there are perfectly proper charities for these things, and of course they would not discriminate based upon size.
suz is a bit odd,
