I ran my spyware detect software thingy, Spybot. And when I was done, there was only one spyware it found. It was called, "Congratulations! No imm..." which I took to mean one of those annoying popup softwares that told me, "Congratulations! You have won an ipod for free, 'cause all you need do is spend $400 on our sponsors" or some such thing.
So I definitely wanted to get rid of that sucker. The only problem was that when I tried to do it, it didn't let me. The "Fix selected problems" option went gray and wouldn't be pressed, even when I selected it! And deselected it! And selected it again!
Didn't Spybot want me to be popup-free? What was up with this nonsense?
I ran it again.
Same thing happened.
I updated all software, so it would better function and target that mofo.
Same thing happened.
I ran it again.
Same thing happened.
So by this time I was all, "skdjfalksjdflksdf, I don't care, I'll just deal with the popup whenever it comes onto my screen, WHATEVER." And I hated Spybot. And I cursed its name.
At which point, I noticed the two arrows next to the results window, which allowed me to expand the results to see the full name of that evil popup spyware that I COULD NOT GET RID OF.
Its full name was, "Congratulations! No immediate threats were found."
