My grandfather can now *walk* with aid of a walker from the television area at the senior life center to the dining room. When my grandmother told me this, it made my day. He broke his pelvis months ago, and it has been a very slow and very scary recovery.
My mother came to visit me yesterday and stayed the night, and it felt so *good* to see her and spend time in her presence and hear her voice. She left today. We had a wonderful (though brief) visit.
Tonight a friend is coming over, and he and I are going to watch "Hercules Versus the Moon Men," which neither of us has seen, though it promises to be a cheesy time for all with much ridiculing to be had.
I got two kinds of gourmet cheese yesterday at the co-op! *hoorah* If you were to ask me how many sorts of cheeses this means are in my fridge, I couldn't tell you without checking; a lot.
One of my sisters is moving from Boston back to Chicago in the fall, which means that we will be able to see each other a lot more, as Chicago is only about four hours from Iowa City.
I am going to read something I have never read before tonight.
food,
family,
rambling,
friends,
movies
