There are some definite pitfalls to being in a relationship around Christmastime, as many many mediocre-to-bad movies are happy to point out. (Ben never rarely goes to see my family on Holidays, so even though my family has all met him, I sometimes think they question his existence.)
But one of the awesome things about having a significant other this time of year is getting to share in their family traditions. (I guess this could be a bad thing, if their family tradition was, say, getting naked and jumping in a semi-frozen lake or something, though.) Ben's family decorates gingerbread houses every year, and it is a fun-filled family time :) Filled with candy, also. Lots and lots of candy.
