It's that time of year again! Whenever there's an election happening, I find that going through the voter book and reading about all the various propositions and so forth is really damn boring. But I feel guilty voting without being informed, and I feel guilty not voting.
A friend and I discovered a while back that the voter guide is a lot more fun to read if you're drunk.
It's no fun drinking alone. So, in a celebration of the last-minute cram sessions of college, I provide dinner and booze, and invite a bunch of folks over to help study the voter information guide.
That's right -- it's time again for Connie-Lynne's Famous Voter Information Guide Dinner, Study, and Drink Party!
Disagreement and active discussion is encouraged, rudeness and tedious repetition is not (that's what the Internet is for!) Don't forget to bring your voter information pamphlet.
Too gay to come? Too god-fearin' to show up? Too vegetarian? Too republican or libertarian or whatever? NOT TRUE! We have happily and politely accommodated pro-choice, pro-gun, anti-spending, and not-a-citizen-of-California persons all in the same house! Not a US citizen or under-18? Make your voice heard by speaking up at my dinner! Too sober? Drive some folks home! Too drunk? Bring a sleeping bag! The only rule is DON'T BE RUDE OR BORING. (Well, and please smoke outside, Erich has asthma).
I promise you, you will feel smarter when you leave, and not just because of beer goggles! It's also a free meal, and quite tasty.
Where: Chez Lynne/Erich's Spielhaus
When: Tuesday, October 26, 6:30pm
Try to RSVP so I know how much food to make. Come anyway, if you haven't, because I always make too much food.
