A Penchant for Dark Comedy
I'm talking to my Mom on the phone today, and the subject of my Grandpa's funeral came up. I have been wondering what my parents' plans are for after they die (the last time we discussed their will, I was 15 and they were going to Japan for two weeks), so I delicately asked Mom what their current plans were. You never really want to just jump into that stuff, right? "Hey, I was curious whether you guys have done anything with your wills or estate planning lately that I should know about." We chatted for a few minutes and the following conversation ensues:
Mom: So, I'm gonna put your father on because he can explain some of this better than me.
Me: OK, sure!
Mom: Daaaan! Can you pick up the phone? Connie-Lynne wants to know what's supposed to happen when we kick the bucket!
Me: Hey! You tell him that's not how I said it!
