Oh good grief. It's been *9* weeks since I updated according to my home page. That's so pathetic.

So, I guess that means I haven't said much of anything about my summer. The short version is- I did a lot of getting out of the house; Costa Rica, Georgia, Florida, Disneyland, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, visited with my parents and helped clean up the backyard, drove to Utah from so. Cal, visited with Jett's friend Alyson, drove on to Salt Lake City, spent time with Tami, Kristen, Mary, Rachel, Jen and Rochelle, and Jett's family. Had a wonderful, productive, relaxing time.

Now I'm back to school. We've got large classes, but not nearly as big as they originally feared. The starting count was 41 and 42 per class. Now it's down to 36 and 37. Still big- but comparatively it's not bad at all. I get to do art for my elective since the PE teacher is having health covered in her class. She's having the counselor teach once a week to each class, since she gets ALL 73 of them last period. That means I get to teach art for elective. We've been working on sewing. The first day I taught them how to thread the needle. The next two days we worked on sewing fabric together, and now we've gone on to actually dying fabric. We got stuff ready for tie-dye effects, and Friday we did the dying. We'll take out the stitching and all on Monday. Hopefully we'll get some good results.

Last weekend Jett and I went to the mall because she'd had a small accident with her power cord. After we got a new cord, we went to Borders. While looking at some of the books in their bargain section, I picked up a book, and under the book was a Life magazine. The thing that was odd was that it looked old. And when I looked at the date, it said "July 2, 1945". I figured it must be a reprint- so I started looking through it. It was NOT a reprint. I took it to the counter and said that I didn't think it was theirs, but I'd be happy to pay the price on it- 10 cents. The two guys behind the counter were totally surprised. They both looked at it and the one guy SMELLED it. It's in amazing shape. Not yellowed or anything.

Uh, I guess that sort of fills in some of the last 9 weeks. ;)
