The monthly update
I should update this thing at least once a month, huh?
Here's a smattering of what's going on/has already happened:
1. Nicole and I have found an apartment together. It's closer to downtown, has more than 1300 square feet of space and will cost both of us less in rent. Also, nice hardwood floors, quirky red and green walls and plenty of space for each of us to have an office and for us to have a room devoted to poker and darts. I'll move in late May, she'll join me after her lease runs out at the end of July.
2. The Lords of Alacrity successfully defended their title at DUCK Bowl last weekend, though we lost a game this year. In fact, we lost our first game 450-175 to the team of Jeremy White and some of the house team's better trash players before coming back to win 8 in a row, including a 295-265 win over White et al in the final game. I got a tossup on "bananas" on TU 19 to seal the deal in the final. Lots of nail-biting, however.
3. Heading home this weekend to (A) go to the Cubs game on Saturday, (B) see the new dachshund puppy whom my parents have named Ziggy MacDougal, (C) go to IKEA and pick up some rugs for the aforementioned apartment and (D) hopefully get to see friends/family. Anyone wanna go have dinner at the John Barleycorn in Wrigleyville/Lincoln Park around 6 pm Saturday?
