Saturday, 14 October: Aborted Congress Loop - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=495638

We set out on a 30 mile loop up to the town of Congress, but cut it short to avoid pain and death. The ride out on 320 and 539 was nice, but the ride back through the valley was AMAZING!! Fall colors on both sides of the valley, with lakes, fields, and cows in the middle. It's something that everyone needs to experience.

Flickinger Hill is a hardcore hill, but we both did it without walking. And the ride down the other side made it all worth it: 44 MPH is really fast. We're definitely going back there soon to do the whole route.

Sunday, 15 October: Holmesville and Fredericksburg - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=495669

Kyle punked out today. I did a longer ride from the little route book, heading south to Holmesville and Fredericksburg. I rode hard and fast, and it was good. It wasn't quite as scenic as Saturday, but I did pass at least 6 horse-drawn carriages (they travel about 13 miles an hour; I ride faster) and I was treated to a spectacular view at the intersection of Moreland and Cutter (just after mile 22, Twp Hwy 205 & Co Hwy 77 on the map). It was there that I lay down in the grass and had my snack. I stayed there for at least 10 minutes, and saw only one car.

In summary, I love life and I love bicycling!
