In a cool posting by kellymac that I saw earlier, I thought I'd continue her trend in sharing memories, since I know I didn't want to post it all, links and such....
The Winter Classic started all the fun out in 2009, and of course, yours truly went to go visit. It was fun, even though I was unable to shell the almost $300 for a cheap seat. What made it even funnier was that the Upper Deck was the more expensive seat in the house. Nevertheless, the game itself was fun, even though the Hawks still lost...
This was the official confirmation party --- I was caught unaware of what lie ahead of me, but there it was, the webmasters and all.
Via vote and official turnover by the old founder, it was decided that I was to lead our Gay Gamer group in 2009 and beyond. Ever since, I have not only brought back old traditions, but I'm continuing to make a name for our group, as now we are very well-known within a few UIC and Northwestern University circles. I intend to expand our group locally via the suburbs and nationally through other city group's chapters.
I went to assorted amount of games this past year... Got to see Buffalo, San Jose, Columbus (twice), Los Angeles, and Anaheim this year.
Of course I haven't worn my new jersey yet, which is the pretty one on the right. Likely, I'll be wearing that one at the next Hawks game I attend.
This was the first time the Chicago Blackhawks held a prospects camp in the city in years. Their former home was in suburban Bensenville. Due to the locality of the training camp, I had to pay a visit. As of now, their camps will be held in the city of Chicago. It was here I got to meet the legend in Scotty Bowman, and man, what an honor that was.
I finally met my boyfriend... I've known Eli since June of 2009, and what a guy he is. He may be living down in Texas, but we still shared memories together, far too many of them. I am planning to see him again in April. Love you, baby! ;)
I ended up getting a job, finally... Took long enough, but I ended up getting one in November, and I'm glad I did. I'll be able to make up for a lot of things lost personally, and I'm glad I got a late opportunity while it arose.
As a result, I'll be able to see family and friends again in Mid-January.
My dad also came to pay a visit... and as awkward as it turns out, things turned out ok. ;)
Then there's last but not least...
Sure our wonderful friend Marc spent his last moments on earth, but it kept our bear family closer...
Anyhow, Happy New Year! Here's hoping 2010 will be good for all, even me...
