Ahhh the friendly confines of Wrigley Field....
It was a .... not so sunny day, so it was rather appropriate an affair... However, it didn't mean yours truly didn't have a lot of fun.
I arrived on the scene about 20 minutes earlier from game time to explore around. Who knew that I could explore just about everywhere around Wrigley? Theres more to meets the eye around here. I certainly don't miss Dodger or Angel Stadium after being here, thats for sure. The security is lax more than I thought it would be. That made me excited and photo happy, hehe.... And ironically, guess what I ended up doing? hehe...
First was to find my seat.... That was a trip. The place easily reminded me of Angels Stadium, but with a small twist --
I was high above the seats in taking this picture.... The architectural innovations here are quite intriguing, actually.
Another concept was in this photo I shot....
I must admit, the designers of this place.... Even this amazes me. I love what they did here with this. Easily reminded me of Angels Stadium, especially with the TVs there, but the press box idea is amazing to me.
I then go to the rooftop bar to see the view.... The cloudy day ruined it all for me on that concept.... But I managed to get high atop the sign area and took a picture from above of the famous intersection at Clark and Addison...
Now to my seat.... For $9, this is what you can get...
Awesome view, isn't it? Unless you happened to be this guy... That pole was annoying throughout the game, as the first Alfonso Soriano homer went to left field. No matter, though, there weren't many people in my area....
So yeah, with the pole in the way, everything looked ok until Ryan Dempster came out onto the mound for the Cubs in the 9th Inning... *sigh* The Cubs were leading 4-3 at that time, until 2 people were on base and Andre Ethier was at the plate for Los Angeles.... He hits a 3 run home run shot that lead the fans, especially yours truly in the Upper Deck letting Ryan Dempster have a numerous boo or three after he screwed the game for the Cubs in a 6-4 loss. The game truly sucked, and its sad that not even 2 Alfonso Soriano home runs could do the job....
Nevertheless, my day was not done. Theres one thing truly unique about Wrigley, and its their security. Usually, they're a bit uptight at most other stadiums. At Wrigley, however, they embrace the folklore and the people hanging out after the game to revel in the experience. I decided to do the same to avoid all the traffic outside. And guess what I did? ;) You bet...
And to end the trip on a final note, well, I can't endure the trip without pics of me to show I was there, so here those are:
Don't mind the big "L" flag up top over there, LOL -.- ... I'm just enjoying the moment.... I love Wrigley Field.
Guys, this was the best ballgame experience I've ever enjoyed. Even though the Cubs lost, I haven't had a great time like this in awhile. I never thought I'd see the day when I can enjoy baseball the right way. Dodger Stadium was never like this.
I'm so glad I moved here. I enjoyed my hazing.... Here's hoping for more! :)
