Busy week

Mar 29, 2018 07:26

Looking back, I think I will see this week as 'that week where I decided to go to law school after talking over life and career planning for three hours with mom in the car on the way to the conference in DC.' I also have a cold, and my coworker who usually works from Germany is visiting.

I'm very slowly expanding the list of people I've talked to about the law school idea. Reactions so far have been positive, rather 'yes, I can see you doing that/enjoying that.'

The money aspect looms large, not that I've looked into it too far. I think it possible if I combine my savings with seeking out scholarships/fellowships/whatever, I can leave school with only a medium pile of debt. It feels like planning to buy myself a very expensive present. Lots of research to do.

My time management continues somewhat terrible, but it is improving with improved mental health and motivation.

I finished the last book in the Palliser series over the weekend, and now have many piles of books to read. I have enough breadth of study, so it's time to have some depth to my knowledge. Environmental law seems like something I can sink my teeth into and shake until it is dead.

I remain concerned about my brother, who's in Beijing working at a hospital company, but at least his cat is cute.
