no not seriously...anyone who has listened to Rush for more than 10 seconds knows what he is saying here. Its a version of what he has said for years. Some in the GOP think that by getting along with the Dems that all of a sudden the media will be fair with them and the long list of aggrieved people who dont like the GOP will all of a sudden like them.

First time I heard this was 1995 when all Newt's freshmen took office.

You would know better than I, so I'll defer to your interpretation. But it seems to me that mocking the wing of the party that wants to try to understand the priorities of women, minorities and others is a pretty good path to failure.

i dont listen anymore..havent in years. but he is not mocking them. He always uses absurdity to make points. His core point is right. There is almost nothing the GOP will ever do that will get significant amounts of the people listed in his comment to vote GOP. They should focus on expanding their base into the convincibles and not the unconvincibles

If the "unconvincables" are women, minorities and LGBT then the party is doomed. Last time I checked, straight white men were less than 50% of the voters.

I'm not saying anything controversial. This is the exact debate that is going on in the GOP. In one corner are people who concede that change is necessary if the party has any chance of surviving. In the other corner are people who prefer to limit the reach of the party to those with sufficient ideological purity regardless of whether that dooms the party. Right now it seems like the second group is winning.
