Woo! What A Weekend! For those of you who didn't know, I went to an AWESOME concert! And, I had a Holloween party (sorry if you weren't invited!). Yeah so lets get down to it! I'm going to be attempting a LiveJournal cut cause this might be a long one.
So in chronological order of the weekend, let's start off with the show. Doug, Nick, Gage and I went. Which might seem odd since this was Doug's first concert ever and none of them other then Gage are very hardcore. Neither am I but still... The lineup was Veda, The Bled, UnderOATH and Thrice. Concidering I'm really only a true fan of UnderOATH, I went for them. I'm not sure if the show started early or Veda just didn't play, but either way, we didnt hear them play. Apparently their van which had all their clothes, money and gear got stolen so that sucks. So The Bled kicked it off for us. Good screamo, their songs sounded similar to each other but very good none the less. While the lead singer was in the crowd some kid crowd surfed up and screamed along into the mic. That kid was really awesome, I wish I could do that.
Next up was UnderOATH, who sounded just like their CD. Good energy and the crowd loved em. The guitarist put Fall Out Boy's guitarist to shame with spinning his guitar around twice in one throw while he spun the opposite way! Made some calls to Aubin and Cat durring their Reinventing Your Exit which is an awesome song. Anyone who hasn't heard it go take a listen now! *points and squints* The moshing durring UnderOATH was very hardcore, tons of thrashing so I only stayed in for one song just to beat up a kid in honor of Aubin who sadly wasn't with us. Thats right, the regulars were not together for a show... odd ain't it. The rest of teh crowd couldnt hold the pits back so people here creating weird pits which i dont know the name to. Just people pushing in a general direction at different times so lots of people fell. It was VERY tiring and sweaty. On the bright side, Doug and I got 3 rows from the front!!! Very cool!
So after UnderOATH cam Thrice who was the headliner of the tour. Going to the show, I only knew the songs Artist In The Ambulance and Stare Into The Sun which are both great songs. Leaving the show I really wanted to buy the new CD but I didnt want to spend more money on merch that night. The stuff from the new CD that they played is VERY impressive. Very hardcore for Thirce. I was so tired I basicly stood on the edge of the floor and bar. This is going to make me sound old... but they were too loud man... way the F to loud lol. At least the guitars. Toward the end of the show I found Doug (lost him at the beginning of the set)and we got $4 bottles of water but they were very worth it. So with our ears in pain we drifted to teh back of the club to watch the encore where they played Stare Into The Sun accoustic so I sung along as did the rest of the club, and another song which I didnt know. So we bought our merch and left. VERY GOOD SHOW!
On the ride home we went one a 45 min Taco Bell hunt! WE DIDNT FIND ONE! We didnt stop before Foxburo because we didnt want to get stuck behind traffic from the game. But that was an awesome trip none the less.
Which brings me to last night! I had a little holloween get together. About 25 kids came. Give or take a few that only visited for a little while. So far as people making appearences: Me(obviously)Doug, Adam, Aubin, Joel, Keeling, Jay, Gage, Morrisey, Alex, NinjaRay, BBG, Nick, Stevey, Ryan, Billy S., Kayla, Kayla, Bay, Cat, Kristen, Ace, Jess, Sammy, Ali, and Elise. I believe thats everyone... who knows I can't keep track. Some intresting costumes (read i.e. - Drag) on behalf of Joel and Aubin... Don't worry, if you didn't see... pics will be up VERY soon! We went trick-or-Treating and watched Land Of The Dead. I had a good time, hope everyone else did too!
I think thats everything.... who knows! Comments are awesome!
