I feel like I wasted this weekend. Like I feel as if I didn't really accomplish anything. I don't like that feeling. I had a lot of fun along the way, though, so I guess it's not that bad. On Friday my family came to Ann Arbor to take me out to dinner and I was wearing my new dress and my new makeup and I felt very pretty, which is a good feeling. Add that feeling to just being silly with my family was colossal. The highlights of the evening:
1. The food was sooo good. The dessert was even better. And the cappucino that they had came with cinnamon sticks, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and brown sugar, so you got to flavor your own cappucino. I felt like a chef.
2. My mom got me a beautiful white gold necklace with three small diamonds. It was so exciting because I never get my real birthstone since it's so expensive. Plus it looks really pretty and elegant.
3. Kate and I were totally quoting from all these Disney movies and singing all the fun songs. We were stuck on Beauty and the Beast, specifically Gaston's lines and songs and mannerisms. It was fun to talk about things from my childhood that other people remembered. Like when I was little I wanted to watch The Little Mermaid and my dad said I wasn't allowed because of Ursula. It was good to see them.
Mom also brought my dress for formal and my curling iron with her. So when I got back to the room I started curling hair and I decided what to do for Jeanette's, Erin's, and Bethany's hair next Saturday. Something about just girls is so much fun. I really like hanging out with guys and all, but when it's all girls you can be so silly and embrace all of the dorky things you would never want guys to know. It's such a refreshing thing to do every once and a while.
On Saturday, we went dress shopping for Bethany. She ended up buying this princessy white party dress that looks darling. Yay for dressing up! While at the mall, we got a little hyper and Jess stole a frappucino with 4 shots in it, we were jumping on the beds in Sears, and we went through Claire's and had a photo op. After dinner, Jess and Erin and I decided that we wanted one of the McDonald happymeals with the squirrel in it. So we went to three different McDonalds in the Ypsi/Ann Arbor area with no luck. On the way, however, we got a koala, a snake, and a giraffe. It was entertaining. We also stopped by Dan and Kelly's house. Later that night, we hung out and I was trying to do Meggie-poo's hair but it didn't turn out so good...We also went to the nest and watched Big Daddy. Not a great movie, but it had a few laughs. Didn't got to bed until really late, which is not a great idea when you have to wake up for church the next day.
I didn't really enjoy church that much. The sermon was too long, there was no communion, and a soloist sang half of like all of the hymns, and thats my favorite part of Easter for me. Later in the afternoon, I got to wear a very sexy usher vest and ushered for the Boy Friend. There were a lot of good things about it, and also some bad things. The biggest problem was that the script was absolute garbage. Like, it didn't even make any sense sometimes and half the songs had no purpose - they were just fillers. That was annoying. Plus the fact that we don't have an auditorium really hurts shows that change scenes - like musicals. But the singing was all good, the dancing was on (although I wasn't too fond of the choreography), and some people really surprised me and surpassed my expectations.
Tomorrow I have to do the theory project. A little scary, but I'm kinda over it. I mean, I did a decent job at it. Everyone knows that Josiah and Tim will write way way better than I ever will, but I don't care anymore. I don't have to take anymore theory after this week, so I'm just getting through it.
This week is gonna be a little intense, but it's crunchtime. Tomorrow we're going out to eat for my birthday!
