people are nice to pregnant women, especially those who are obviously waddling.
we went down to boston and a guy and his friend at upper crust gave up a table they were waiting for so that i could sit. it was really embarrassing, and while i protested (that i was fine) it got taken! he was still nice about it, though i felt pretty bad about the whole thing.
i asked the guy at the ups store if i could use the hand cart to move something from my car and he said i was silly-- he'd come out and help me, duh! then he reminded me that next time, i should ask for actual help, and not to just borrow a handcart.
at s&s, the hostess got berated by the owner, who said "i want her seated now. she's about to give birth." not that i am, but i guess i am starting to look it(?). we were next up anyway, but it was amusing because the hostess had just called our number, and then claimed she had not called us when we went up there, totally bizarre. umm, "100" sounds totally different from "99".
i've been offered seats on the subways in NY.
a woman and her daughter let me go first in the restroom.
nice people are cool. you know what else is cool? i got out of having a baby shower! oakie's mom had wanted to throw one on 12/30 but since it's the holidays, not many of her friends can make it. since she doesn't want us driving to and fro during january, it made more sense to just not have one <-- whew.
