While sleeping alone in a flower field atop Lhant Hill, Sophie is awoken by two young boys, Asbel and Hubert. After asking the girl numerous questions, such as what her name is or where she's from, the boys come to the conclusion that she has amnesia, and decide to take her back to town with them. Although, before leaving, she shows quite a bit of interest in the Krosophie flower, so both her and Asbel pick one, and they head to Lhant.

Upon entering Lhant, a friend of Asbel and Hubert's, Cheria, spots them from afar, and seems quite angry with them for not taking her to Lhant hill. Cheria recognizes Sophie as competition, thinking that Asbel might be interested in Sophie. The boys inform Cheria that Sophie has amnesia, and they all decide to go see Frederic about it. Frederic doesn't know who Sophie is, so he isn't much help with that, but they decide to continue to look for things that might jog her memory, and leave town again.

Outside Lhant, they meet a woman with some type of bird monster, and ask if she knows who Sophie is -- to which she replies that she does not, but thinks Sophie could remember something by seeing her performance! The children agree to see it, but the woman doesn't do a very good job with it -- so Asbel gives it a try. However, when he tries to give the bird a command, it's Sophie who follows it; she ends up doing quite a few tricks. The possibility is mentioned that Sophie could be from a circus, but she isn't sure herself, and the party heads back to Lhant again.

Upon reaching Asbel and Hubert's home, they're asked to speak with their dad, and they bring Sophie along with them. After their conversation with him, they go back outside, and think of names for Sophie -- deciding to, of course, name her Sophie, after the flower she was interested in. The Krosophie flower.

Soon after that happens, they meet a boy named Richard, and Sophie, Asbel, and him all go to Lhant hill together. While there, they end up falling off the cliff, and having to make their way back up. Once they reach the top again, they make a vow of friendship -- they write their names on the large tree and promise to be friends forever, no matter what.

After Asbel gets in trouble, he's locked in his room -- but Sophie breaks the door down and helps him to escape and go to Balonia, where all of the others have gone. On the way, she and Asbel have a race to see who will protect who -- Sophie wins, of course, and she's quite content with being the one to protect him.

While in Balonia, Sophie and Asbel meet up with the others -- Hubert, Cheria, and Richard, and decide to meet outside at night. However, Richard never shows up, so the others go on into the passage without him. When they reach an open room in the underground passage, Sophie notes that it's dangerous, and that they should get away from there. Asbel says it's fine, and then the children notice a currently unconscious Richard laying on the ground. As Asbel and Sophie rush to his side, a large, dark monster comes out of no where and knocks Cheria and Hubert out. Asbel tries to fight it, but loses horribly and passes out, leaving only Sophie to fight. It seems to be defeated by the time Asbel wakes up, but when Sophie helps him sit up, the monster's arm shoots out and stabs Sophie right through the stomach, causing her a lot of pain. However, the hole in her stomach is shining, which is clearly pretty abnormal. She then brings herself to her feet and rushes towards the monster (screaming), and explodes once she reaches it.

Afterward, Asbel wakes up in his room, and is told that Sophie indeed died.

Seven years later, Asbel has been in the knight academy the entire time. He soon meets up with Cheria, learns that his father is dead, and heads back to Lhant. After being attacked and chased by large machines from Fendel, Cheria and Asbel arrive at the flower patch on Lhant hill -- the same one Asbel and Hubert met Sophie at seven years ago. They're both in quite a bind, but before they can be killed by the machines, Asbel glows, and Sophie appears in front of him. Cheria and Asbel can't believe their eyes -- Sophie died seven years ago, so there's no way this could be her, right? After taking care of the machines, Sophie seems to have amnesia again because she doesn't even know who "Sophie" is. Asbel even tries showing her the tree they wrote their names on as children, but she doesn't think she remembers anything -- although, she feels as though the tree is important. After that, she agrees to go along with Asbel and Cheria.

They return to Lhant, and Asbel and Sophie head to Asbel's mansion, where he tells her that the reason he decided to protect everyone was because of her. After taking care of what they needed to take care of there, they head out again. And while on the field, Sophie brings them a Krosophie flower, asking what it is. Asbel tells her it's a Krosophie flower, and Cheria explains that it's the flower Sophie was named after. Sophie then asks for them to continue calling her Sophie, even though she may not even be the actual Sophie -- and then states that she likes the flower; it gives her a warm, nostalgic feeling. Asbel proceeds to give her a Krosophie seed.

The three of them travel through the seaside cavern, realize that Fendel went ahead and attacked Lhant, and have to rush back. When they arrive, Strahta has already come to the rescue, led by none other than Hubert. After all the commotion, Sophie plants the Krosophie seed Asbel gave her, and asks when it'll bloom. Asbel doesn't know, but he says it may become Kazahana someday.

Afterwards, Asbel and Hubert have a fight. Asbel loses and ends up being kicked out of Lhant, with Sophie close behind (following of her own accord). Asbel tries telling her to go back, but all she has to say is the word "protect" and he breaks down in the rain. He gets sick from it, though, and then soldiers come, but Sophie protects him and they head to Balonia to see Richard.

Upon arriving at Balonia, they're told Richard is dead, then they go to the Capital's Underground Passage -- where Sophie died when they were all children. They meet Richard there (clearly, he's not dead), fight some soldiers, and then escape onto the beach, where Asbel and Richard have a talk. While there, Sophie tries to touch Richard's hand, but some weird reaction occurs and both of them pull away quickly. They then head to Wallbridge, where they meet Pascal.

She puts her hands on Sophie's shoulders, to which Sophie reacts by attacking her. Pascal's quite excited about meeting (and touching!) a "real one". They question what she means by that, and she leads them to where she found some sort of hologram of Sophie -- deep within the Wallbridge Ruins. The word "Lambda" is written on the device that displays the hologram, and Sophie feels like she's heard that before. That's really all they can do there, though, and it's all they came for, too, so they leave the ruins.

Outside, Pascal decides to go to Gralsyde with them. Her motive? Becoming friends with Sophie (and touching her again, of course)! Though, Sophie doesn't like that, and hides behind Asbel.

Richard collapses a bit (only falling onto one knee) on the way. Sophie then becomes silent and approaches Richard, but when she goes to touch him, he makes it clear he doesn't want her near him by swatting her away. Sophie looks hurt by that, and even asks Richard if him and her are friends. He says yes, but she still wonders why he'd swat her away like that then.

The party takes care of some business in Gralsyde and then Asbel and Richard have a conversation at night, while Sophie watches from afar. She wonders why she can't take her eyes off of Richard and why she feels uneasy when he's with Asbel. The next day, they have their soldiers move out and the party themselves return to the Wallbridge Ruins.

They quickly pass through the ruins, and arrive at Wallbridge itself. There, Richard has a bit of an ... episode. He's attacked by a soldier, and when it seems like he's terribly wounded, he stands back up and rages, slashing the soldier many times. Afterward, the party's pretty worried about him, but they press on. At the top of the bridge, the party fights Malik, Asbel's instructor from the kngiht academy. Following their battle, they notice Cheria down below healing soldiers and go to see her.

She decides to join them, and they head up to the top of the bridge to see Richard, who has another episode (though he doesn't harm anyone this time) and has to be taken away due to being in pain afterward. Later, Sophie asks why Asbel and Richard fought even though they're friends, and voices the fact that she's worried about Richard.

Not long after, the party heads back to Balonia, entering through the underground passage, then taking an exit into the castle. There, they see Richard surrounded by dead soldiers, and he joins the party. They fight a woman named Victoria on the way through, and eventually come to Cerdic, who they kill (more specifically, Richard kills). Richard is then crowned king.

Richard then wants to take Lhant back by force, but Asbel goes back to speak to Hubert about this. While there, Richard attacks, followed by Windol soldiers. He attacks Hubert and Asbel, and Sophie immediately steps in -- she wants to protect her friends. In the middle of her fight with Richard, she regains her memories, proving that she is in fact the Sophie from seven years ago. She soon defeats Richard.

Afterward, Hubert is called back to Strahta, and Cheria is kidnapped, but soon saved by Asbel. They argue after she's saved, and Sophie gets them to make a vow of friendship with each other.

The party then heads to Strahta, passing through the towns of Oul Raye and Sable Izollé, and then eventually being swallowed up by the Rockgagan monster in the desert. The party is able to escape it due to the pepper Hubert is carrying in a bag. Afterward, they head to Strahta's capital, Yu Libelté. They find out that Strahta needs more Criath, so that's the reason they were interested in Lhant. Pascal assumes something is wrong with Strahta's Valkynes Criath, so they go to check it out, and she's correct. They fix it, but Richard soon shows up to drain the Valkynes Criath of its power. As he flies off, Sophie yells for him to wait, but soon collapses while holding her stomach. She says that Richard is her friend, and the pain soon goes away after that. Then she directs her words at mainly Asbel, once again saying that Richard is their friend and that they can't fight him., but she still has to try. Asbel tells her that that's how the rest of them feel, too. Following more conversation, the party heads back to Yu Libelté and meets up with Hubert, who tells them that Windol's Valkynes Criath has met the same fate as Strahta's. The party needs to reach Fendel's Valkynes Criath before Richard, and Hubert joins the party in order to help.

Though, before heading to Fendel, the party must first seek the help of a spy at the coliseum at Riot Peak. After a bit of trouble with Fendel soldiers, the party manages to save the spy and get her to lead them. The party arrives at the port, then at Velanik, where Sophie asks Malik if he's thinking of things from a long time ago, and also asks if it hurts to think of them. She then tries to think about what she was doing a long time ago, too. She asks herself if she was protecting Asbel and the others, but then thinks that it was something much more serious. Following the party's discussion, they move through Velanik and onto the capital, Zavhert.

However, on the boat ride there, Sophie thinks to herself quite a bit.

She has no memories of before her time spent with the children seven years ago. Everyone told her she died protecting them before, and what does it mean to die, anyway? When she thinks about death, she gets quite the frightening feeling. She wants to remember, and yet she's afraid to. If the time comes when she once again dies, will she be able to meet everyone like this again?

Her thoughts are cut off when she overhears a conversation between Asbel and Hubert, so she goes over to them and asks Hubert if he dislikes people he doesn't know well -- to which he replies yes. Sophie tells him that she doesn't even know her own self very well, so does that mean Hubert also dislikes her? He explains that she's different because she's not hiding anything, she's just forgotten it all. So she asks if it's okay to not know herself if she's just forgotten, and he says yes.

The party then arrives at the capital, Zavhert, where they find out about Malik being a former soldier for the Fendel Army, and Pascal being a member of the Anmarcia clan. She also tells them that she's done research on the Valkynes Criath, so they decide to head to the Home of the Anmarcia to get more information on this. When they arrive, Poisson tells the party that Fourier is now in charge of that research, so they try to find her -- though, she tells them to talk to Kurtz about it, so they return to Zavhert in order to speak with him. He refuses to speak to them about it, but they don't give up, and head to Fendel's Valkynes Criath only to meet up with Kurtz again, who fights them and loses. After his defeat, the Valkynes Criath acts up, due to the machines connected to it, and is about to explode, when Kurtz cuts through one of the pipes coming from the machine. This causes him to die, and Sophie kneels down next to him -- she's obviously affected by his death. After trying to tell Kurtz to come back, Malik stops her and tells her to allow him to rest in peace.

Immediately following Kurtz's death, Richard appears and begins sucking the power from the Valkynes Criath. Asbel tries to stop him, but is hit by an attack and knocked quite a ways back. Richard fires another shot at Asbel, but Sophie's successfully blocked the attack and now begins to glow. Seeing as she's very serious about this now, she begins her assault, using the wall as a way to reach Richard's location. Once she's gotten to him, she holds nothing back, punching and kicking with all she's got. However, it's her loss as he overpowers her and knocks her down to the ground, escaping soon after.

After some conversation, Poisson tells the party to check out the records in the Anmarcia village because they may have more information on Sophie and Richard. They do as Poisson says, and once there, Pascal accesses the computer-like thing. It meantions something called "Lastaria". Then the name Lambda pops up on the machine, and they realize it's the name they found in the Wallbridge Ruins. Sophie seems to think deeply about the name. They also find the word "Fodra" and the phrase "Seed of Destruction", which also seem to envoke some thinking from Sophie. It seems as if she's going to remember something, but her head hurts now, so she follows Cheria outside.

Outside, Sophie talks to Cheria about it, and tells her that she feels as though if she doesn't remember soon, something bad will happen. But she's afraid of remembering. The others then come out to meet up with Cheria and Sophie, and they head to Central Island.

On the boat ride there, Sophie asks Asbel if Richard is still their friend -- Asbel of course answers with yes; he's an important friend. Their conversation following that consists of talk about friendship, and the vow they made. They'll save Richard.

Richard shows up, with a weird dark aura around him, at Central Island almost immediately after the party does, and he engages in battle with them. After the battle, he writhes in pain on the ground, his voice extremely distorted. Though, Asbel says he can hear Richard's (real) voice, and sure enough, Richard's voice is normal and calling Asbel's name -- he even asks for help. While asking not to be killed, he also mentions that they're friends -- and this pings Sophie, who walks up and kneels down in front of him.

The distorted voice comes back, calling Sophie Protos 1. Suddenly, her chest begins to hurt and she tells him he's wrong -- her name is Sophie. She then reaches out for him, asking to vow to be friends. He looks up at her, seemingly in pain -- and she smiles!

But her smile quickly fades when he points his sword directly at her face, while telling her to disappear. He then blasts her, knocking her unconcious, and begins to engulf the island in some sort of huge cocoon. The party has no choice but to run.

When they reach a safe port, Cheria and Hubert are trying their best to heal Sophie, while Asbel calls her name. Suddenly, she regains consciousness, but then seems to be in a great deal of pain. She then begins asking where everyone is, and it appears that her sights become terrible, as she can barely see anything. Cheria and Hubert try their healing artes again, but nothing seems to work.

They end up taking her to the nearest inn and laying her on the bed. Pascal then says that Sophie must not be a human, since her current state isn't a state that a human can be in. She then suggests that they take her to Fodra, which happens to be a completely different planet! After saying that, everyone becomes intent on getting to Fodra to save Sophie. So they then leave Sophie in Poisson's hands and set out.

This is the canon point from which I am taking her.
