“The cobalt?”
“We have given it to our contact in the Canadian Government. She will be providing us with the information that we were seeking in exchange.”
“Yes, it’s much better this way. If we had held on to the cobalt to use as leverage later, Center would have found out eventually… Dinner?”
“I can’t.”
“Oh, that’s right, you were planning on visiting Nikita’s apartment tonight.”
“You have to admit the story about my nonexistent sister created an opportunity with Kessler and further developed my relationship with Nikita, allowing her to believe that we have a deeper connection.”
"Yes, it was quite efficient."

She has been feeling this for years, but lately, it has been worse like the world is off balance. However, it’s not the world, it’s her.
Looking down at her schedule of patients, she can’t help thinking, ‘This is not my life.’

“Is that the new recruit?”
“Yes.”
“It looks like your chosen successor has taken an interest in her?”
“It is his job to pretend to care.”
“Are you sure he is pretending?”
An irritated look from Adrian is all the answer that George needs. “How did she end up here?”
“Petty crime mostly, breaking and entering, stealing cars, that sort of thing. However, there were signs that her crimes would soon escalate. The Section is interested in her exceptional ability to construct complex plans; however, her integration program suggests that she lacks the control necessary to become anything more than a level four operative.”
“Any family?”
“A mother and a sister but they won’t be of any use to us.”

Quickly scrolling through the items on the panel before her breakfast meeting with Paul, her eyes briefly catch on the item with her sister’s name on it, detailing that she had been killed in a plane crash.
Sarah’s death almost affects her. In the end, though, it doesn’t because they both got what they wanted. Sarah got the doll and she got the world.
