So after watching the "Listener," I have to confess that I'm hooked on Seeker. 'Listener' had all the tropes that usually annoy me and yet, I found myself smiling at the usual cringe parts and laughing at the stuff that usually does nothing for me.
And as it turns out this confession stuff is good for the soul, so with that in mind, under the cut lies some of my TV confessions.
I watched the first three seasons of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman on dvd solely for the hotness that is Byron Sully. I mean the show is one big course in self-righteousness, cheese, and redundancy, but I watched/marathoned the show for a glimpse of Sully. And the worst part is, I will probably finish the show once I get done with mainlining Seeker. Random note of weirdness, I was in the middle of S3 of Dr. Quinn when I discovered LFN and when I went to go look for TR vids on YouTube, I found a clip of a movie that had both Alberta Watson and Joe Lando (aka Byron Sully) in it.
I watched the sitcom The Nanny recently and I liked it. The show has one of the most shallowest premises ever, but I loved every minute it was on. If you ask me about this later, I will say that it was 2 am in the morning and I'm not accountable for my actions.
Despite owning the first three seasons of the Closer on dvd, I hate that show simply for Kyra Sedgwick's Southern accent. Okay, I have lived in the South my entire life. I was born in NC and then moved to TN when I was about 6 or 7, but I have severe issues with the South. When I was younger, I would tell people that I was born in Northern North Carolina, which I was not, in hopes that they would think that I was a 'Yankee.' Okay, now, that we have the boring context out of the way, I have issues with Sedgwick's Southern accent because after living in the South for so long it is very hard to hear a Southern accent or to know exactly what one sounds like so I cringe whenever I hear her accent on the Closer because I fear that is what my accent sounds like. So yeah, I have mentioned before that I'm quite shallow.
If there was a fire in my house, I would grab my The Lost World dvd set, a totally cheesy show with so much camp it actually hurts, before I would grab my Lost dvd set. Oh and speaking of Lost, I have irrational Kate Hate. I'm going to hate myself for writing this, but this my confession dammit, I would like Kate a lot more if she was Season One Kate and not Seasoned Whore Kate.
This is not really a tv show, but they are on the TV machine so it counts. I'm not exactly fond of Keith Olbermann, but I'm adore Rachel Maddow. I kind of think she is like the smartest person in the world.
I guess those are my most grievous acts against TV. Feel free to ridicule or add your own.
