Title: Lost
Let’s break up, he said, expressionless, looking down with those cold eyes.
At least it wasn’t through a text message, was what Tegoshi thought. The reason he gave cannot, no, isn’t an excuse.
I don’t love you anymore, he said.
Those sweet lips, those same red lips that touched him had said that.
It was true, actually. He could feel the love from him disappearing day by day. Even when they made love it was nothing more than just a pretense. No more small little acts like pats on the head.
But he had done that today. Today, when he said I don’t love you anymore.
What is the meaning of that, leaving traces of him, leaving those sharp cutting traces behind? And that heartbreaking smile? Words that should be spoken that day had been lost forever.
Tegoshi had walked away first.
For the whole day, he kept his gaze averted away. Spoke only when he was spoken to.
Most of the time he spent looking at the sky.
Finally the meeting was over. The sky is dark, just perfect for his mood. Not because that he’s in a foul mood but because he’s suddenly thrown into the darkness by Yamapi’s words.
He walks alone through the dark alley, casting no shadows. Then he hears that voice.
“Tegoshi.”
He turns, and he knows it’s him, but he can’t see his face. It’s too dark, with all those streetlights that don’t capture him.
“You forgot something.”
Wordlessly he reaches out and takes it, and his fingers graze his cold ones ever so slightly. He suppresses the urge to hold it.
“T-thank you.”
He turns to leave, and is suddenly held back by his strong grip. A hug, that left him paralyzed.
“I loved you. But I can’t love you anymore now.”
One last hug, and as he releases his paralyzed self, he had disappeared.
“Tegoshi?”
Another taller person, walking towards him. “Why are you crying? What happened?”
That worried voice resembles him so very much. He drops his bag, and realized he was holding onto something Yamapi had passed him. The something that he had forgotten.
“N-nothing’s wrong, really. I thought I had just forgotten something very precious. I’m relieved actually.”
“Oh, you mean that piece of paper you’re holding?”
“Yes.” He whispered. The last reminder of Yamapi before he left this world.
