Penultimate Necropolis
Went to Necropolis on Saturday night. Had (more or less) a good time.
This was the first time I'd been to the current venue, the "Lass O'Gowrie". It's small (dominated by the central bar), but has a beer garden. The drinks are not too expensive.
It also has a pool table. I didn't play on the night, but I like venues with pool tables. I was annoyed when they removed them from the Cambridge, and dissappointed that the Lucky didn't have any, so I'm please to find them here.
So much for the facilities. It was good seeing a number of folk I hadn't seen for a while, like Malachi. However, apart from the Necro regulars there was also the pubs locals (and blow-ins) to contend with.
I encountered two of these. The first one said that he remembered me from uni, and then insulted me over my "gender status" (transsexual woman). I fiercely resisted the urge to knee him in the balls and did have a go at him verbally, after which he apologised. The second seemed to make motions and coming on to me, but it turned out that he was a trucker cross-dresser who wanted someone to talk to about that! I did talk with him, but it was fairly tedious - I am not a walking information access point, and get bored fairly quickly with folk asking me really personal questions in public.
Sigh - where are the cute young goth guys wanting to chat with me (not that I'd know what to say)? I guess I wasn't the only one tired there. Nicola sort of flaked out for most of the night, but Roderick was there to rest on, something he didn't mind at all.
But the big thing was that I got down and danced. The dance floor isn't the largest I've see, but it is comparable to the old one in the Deco bar. I really love dancing, as the photo below shows. It doesn't matter whether I'm good at it or not, it's enjoyable. The floor was (in additional to being small) very sticky. I assume that beer had been spilt over it, at least I hope that's all it was! ;-)

And of course thatw as the 2nd last Necro - next months will be the final one before the wind up the club, and start a new one (probably at the dsame venue).
