Hi there!
Long time no update I know, but I thought in the light of spam posts...**grabs a cane and looks menancing**...and the very many comments I've long forgotten to come back on, it was about time I made time to put in an appearance to let you all know how things stand re. Compulsion at this point in time.
As some of you will already know my personal/family life is going through a patch of turbulence which is requiring my complete attention and preoccupying my time. As a result of this, the club is very much on the back burner.
It is my hope to resurrect the club when life has calmed down and I'm settled somewhere. The biggest hurdle, as it always has been since leaving Subway City, is in finding a venue that is 'right' for the Compulsion guests; a venue with the right kind of license. We would also need to consider how much exactly guests could afford to fork out once such a venue was found. It's very likely we would have to move the club out of Birmingham.
I was offered a near perfect venue not far from Coventry in the Autumn, but when we'd took into consideration things like running coaches to get guests there (it was that, or guests would have to drive/come by taxi), hire of the venue, performers, DJ's, the whole shebang you're used to, the price of entry was pushed up to levels I was pretty sure guests (many of which are students as you know) wouldn't be prepared to pay, even with the benefit of having a private members club at their disposal. Running the club is a lot of fun, but it is also very time consuming; time I don't have at the moment to dedicate to the process of finding a venue, and working out all the fine details. Compulsion isn't dead, and from the contact I've had with many guests since our last event, it's far from forgotten...consider us hibernating until the weathers better :)
