I'm still alive!

Crazy crazy busy. That's been me the past two weeks. This is the height of my baseball season job when we turn 850 names on a list into 80 teams. Plus deal with the upset parents who didn't get the coach/field/teammate they wanted. And registering the person who somehow didn't see the banners, posters, flyers, ads or read any of the emails we sent out about registration ending in February. LOTS of sob stories - I'm growing quite stonehearted by now. Right now, I'm swapping a girl to her brother's baseball team (they didn't realize she could choose baseball over softball) so now single mom only has two teams schedule to follow with her three kids. Now I'm finding a girl on the waiting list to take baseball girls spot. Plus a kid who dropped out before the first practice showed up to practice Monday with dad - mom and dad are divorced and Mom pulled him out because it conflicts with lacrosse. Hmm, what else? An angry grandma demanded to speak with my "supervisor or someone with more authority than you" because she can't understand that teeball is full and her grandson is now number six on the waiting list. In seven days, I worked 77 hours between my three jobs - 47 of them were baseball. It's calming down now but I still spend about 3-4 hours a day answering emails, looking up info and swapping around people on the roster and registering new players. I have big changed in mind for how we do this next year!

That said, we are looking forward to our family vacation in two weeks. We've never gone anywhere during spring break and we've never taken a real family vacation. Kind of sad, isn't it? We're going to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky Wed April 11- Sun the 15th. Best thing about caves? If the weather's bad, your vacation isn't spoiled! Although we are hoping to do a big zipline - well Justin and Steve, Julia doesn't weigh enough so we need good weather for that. Then we are also hoping to go to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Our old babysitter who's in college now is coming to stay with Missy while we're gone.

Julia is away at Fifth Grade Camp this week - they left yesterday (Tues) and will get back Friday morning. She was so excited! Weather isn't quite as good as the last couple of weeks but it could have been a lot worse too. Justin started baseball practice last night - looks like a decent team.

Now I have to get another hour of Butler Hill computer work done and hunker down for another night of emailing. I love Dropbox - I can keep all my important files synced between the laptop and the desktop computer. I think I'll head to the attic after Justin and Steve leave to hit a few balls.

Adios!
