Down Time
Here I sit at the dentist office waiting for Justin and Julia's appointments to be done. I brought my laptop as I have 1/2 hour more of computer work to do but the internet connection (my mobile broadband) isn't fast enough and I can't keep a connection so I've quit trying. It's fast enough to check email and blog though so I'll do that instead.
Christmas was really nice. The kids pronounced it the best ever - "I got everything I wanted!" said Julia who thought last year's celebration was the best ever at the time. Can I keep this up year after year? I doubt it! The big winner was the Playstation 3. Justin prefers games that aren't available on the Wii (controller needed role playing games). The Move Bundle was essentially the same cost as the regular PS3 with a $100 gift card given with purchase of the bundle so we splurged on that. Now to acquire games and accessories . . . Julia also got the Pets add on to Sims 3 so she's been happily creating creatures for her Sims family the last few days. Justin got Ticket to Ride and now we know how to play - seems fun. A little slow with five newbie players and the scoring is a little complicated though.
Justin and Steve are leaving tomorrow for a rabbit hunting trip to the UP until Saturday. I only work one more day this week so Julia and I will have some girl fun together. We're going to try to catch up on her scrapbook (it's frozen at age 2) and her school memory book as well. Maybe go to a movie. Arthur Christmas looks cute. I have the new Stephanie Plumm book and Sue Grafton book so lots of reading too. It is super snowy today so tomorrow sounds like a good day to read by the fire.
