hi there
i feel like its been a while but i think its only been since sunday.
so whats new?
i have the honor and priveledge to be leading the highschool girls of my youth group at messiah in small group for the summer.
pray for their hearts?
that they would begin to grasp just how much theyre loved by our Jesus?
and that their desire would be to live a set apart worshipful life and welcome the challenges along the way.
that starts tomorrow night at 7:30
if you want to come, come on over!
the girls are just really moldable right now- and you know how highschool goes- ppl are pulling at you from every end of the spectrum trying to get you into their "thing".
its amazing the honesty these girls bring to me.
a simple "how are you" ends in them spilling their hearts to me. its so beautiful and i know this is exactly what im supposed to be doing this summer.
i just feel like we've all had a rough past year and we've gone through it together, so that bond is so extremely strong. we have something a lot of people never share. and that, in itself, is precious and holy.
if you think about it, pray that a guy leader would step up to lead the boys. i think tim or david were praying about it...but pray just incase.
what else is new?
started babysitting on monday. and let me tell you, im pooped by the end of the day. getting up at 6 every morning isnt something im used to. give me a week- ill get adjusted : )
ive been searching out more about what it is to have joy and what the life that knows joy looks like. let me keep feelin this one out then ill get back with you.
saturday we're going down to visit our friends with the fruit of the vine again. i left those people so blessed for being in their presance and i feel like with each person we gave a part of our hearts to them. i hate labeling them "homeless" and refering to them as going down to work with the "homeless". they are people. they are our friends. theyre not just objects. they have hearts, stories, hurts, pains, fears, deeper than a lot of us have or will ever know.
i think the vineyard sets a great example of what it is to be the hands and feet to the world. lets put them on our church to-do list soon okay ashley and kimmy?
heather comes home this weekend and i cant even tell you how excited i am about that. she gets me.
what does a praying person look like?
deeper than the "dear god thank you for this day" prayer.
what does it look like to have your each and every move and motive captured in prayer?
ive been exploring those traits lately. i want to know those traits. i want to seek out what it is to live that life and i want to make it mine.
this is getting lengthy so i better stop.
i hope this finds you well.
things are good. hard, but good. i know who my Jesus is and ill stand upon that.
