the typical beginning of summer entry
everyone has been writing these summery entries lately...i don't remember the last time i updated so i suppose i'll give it a shot right now...i leave a month from tomorrow for scotland with alasdair...i'm expecting nothing less than the best trip of my life and i feel that it will hold true...all the planning and packing and airports and flights is what is bothersome to me at the moment...no big deal...it'll be great...i can't wait to watch the world cup in a pub and play soccer and golf by the sea...i'm working as much as i can beforehand in order to have the money to go on such a trip...paying for shit sucks a lot...oh well...i come back july 3 and a couple days later i head off to las vegas and california (yosemite, napa valley, san francisco) with my uncle brother and dad...should be a sweet trip...good food good vistas...can't beat it...i'm there for 10 days...a couple days after that i'm off to iowa for a couple weeks to visit my grandfather (it's weird to think that this will be the first time not seeing my grandmother during my visit to iowa)...i feel like it's gonna be hard on my mom to be there...i can't blame her though...i'm expecting a typical iowa summer though either way...golf hot dogs burritos okoboji...it truly is one of my favorite places in the world...i could honestly see myself living there...i have come to the realization that i enjoy being in low-brow kind of places...it makes me feel like i'm living on the edge and intelligent...after i come home from iowa i am going to work for a week or so...get some money and then i'm off to new york city with justin and jordan...that will be so much fun...three broadway shows...a couple good meals at babbo and maybe spice market...i can't wait...on paper this looks like the best summer i've had so far and i'm expecting it to be...things have been going well for me...i did really well in school this year...my band is doing well i think...although i kind of want a change in direction...maybe soft rock? right...i just feel good right now although that will probably change pretty soon...for some reason i always get pretty down during the summer...maybe one of those seasonal depression things or whatever...we'll see...i'm off to go see dave brubeck now...i'm really looking forward to brubeck...he's a jazz legend...nice...get a hold of me if you want a postcard or anything from scotland or iowa or california or new york...goodbye my babies
