Ron Zacapa '23 Anos' rum is pretty much my favorite 'spirit' to date.
i really don't care for most hard liquor. maybe the occasional vodka/rocks on a hot day, but most just get lost in the alcohol vapor.
this rum is like liquid velvet and smoke w/ a gentle fire. hints of coconut. aged in white oak barrels. made from first pressing cane juice rather than molasses. from Guatemala.
a 'naval tot' (75ml) of this is the perfect end to an evening.

Gluhwein, a German mulled wine. great on a cold night. i added nutmeg/allspice/currants to mine (came w/ cinnamon/clove), and 1:20 in the microwave. great alternative to hot chocolate.

Stone's Ginger.
a traditional English 'ginger'. basically elderberry wine steeped with raw ginger. great to settle an upset tummy, or as a a mixer (1 to 4 w/ vodka). a little syrupy, but i love ginger and i'm willing to put up with it.
