Spain/Rome Journal 10...in which Alie says Hasta Lavista and Ciao!

Well, I am, as of a few days ago, I am doin' as the Romans do. However, that will be in the next journal. For now...I have to make up on some action. Specifically, saying g'bye to good ol' Salamanca. Ah...how I will miss the lettuce, canned corn, and bologna salads....*sigh*.

Anywho, the day before we left Saly (Salamanca) for Ye Ancient Rome, we took a day trip to Segovia. Pretty dang amazing if I do say so myself.

Hail, Segovia!

And what is that in the background...?

Yes! Aqueducts! The famous Segovia Roman Acqueducts! HuzzAh! They were totally cool. It carries water for 17kilometers, built with no mortar or anything, merely held up by pressure. ^^ Go romans! Unfortunately, we did not have time to climb up and get a top view, but it was awesome, nonetheless.

A statue of a sphinx that I thought was cool.

Totally awesome view of the countryside, which could be seen easily from this absolutely amazing....

...Castle! This is the castle supposedly the place where...Josephina(?) was coronated. It was big. And pretty.

The castle was surrounded by an extremely deep moat on one side. Which I am not-very-realistically falling into.

In the castle....

Yes, this is...the frickin' throne room, ladies! Like, queens and kings sat their royal tushes on those two chairs.

All of the rooms had elaborate, beautiful ceilings. Good thing I'm tall...

This was an interesting armory that had a bunch of different styles of armor and weapons, and a coin press.

Goodbye, Castle, hello church!

This church was insane. On the inside, there must have been at least twenty different, enclosed altars with beautiful carvings, paintings, you name it behind way-too-elaborate gates.

Anyways, that night, me and a few friends opted out of going out and decided to enjoy our "last supper" in our restaurant (Juan's, as it was eventually affectinately called)with a few bottles of wine and some good conversation.

...that's a fish skeleton. A whole fish skeleton.

Me and Juan, the restaurant owner. He was a really cool, chill dude, even if his salads were insane. He and his sons ran the place.

Mints compliment of Mom.

Me and Christie (Grams). She's my roomate now in Rome and I love her. She's awesome, and she shares the same affinity for gelato as I do. ^__^

Me, Tiffany, and (Curly-Haired) Mike. We are starting to feel the wine by now, in case you were wondering.

Christie and (Dopey) Mike. Me, Christie, Dopey, Curly, and Tiffany are all going to Venice tomorrow. I'll talk more about that later, now that I have internet. ^^

And Tiffany "I'm not drunk, I have a high tollerance!", who is obsessed with taking pictures, after we got back to Hotel Ibis. Ah...how we will miss you.

And, the final farewell, to Salamanca! Thanks for the interesting time!!!

Well, I've been to Spain, and I've seen a bull run, heard flamenco, watched an opera with spanish subtitles, and eaten a whole fish. Now it's on for Rome, Gelato, and really, really, old buildings!

Join me next time when I attempt to catch up on 10 or more days of Rome in one journal entry!!!
